Kyoto Station Walk: A walk around Kyoto Station | Starting and returning from the Shinkansen central ticket gate

For those using Kyoto Station as their base for sightseeing, or for those who want to experience the station on foot.
This time, we’re bringing you a 20-minute walking video that starts in front of the Shinkansen central ticket gates and goes all the way around Kyoto Station and the surrounding facilities.

It’s often said that Kyoto Station is difficult, but even its layout can be hard to understand on a map, and by actually walking around it you can easily get a sense of its location.
If you check out the actual route taken in the video, you should be less likely to get lost.

The video starts in front of the central Shinkansen ticket gates at Kyoto Station and takes you on a 20-minute stroll around the station. You pass through the North-South Passageway, the Central Concourse, the East Plaza, the Skywalk, and the Grand Staircase. You then pass through the South Plaza and return to the central Shinkansen ticket gates. It’s great that you can get a real feel for the atmosphere of Kyoto Station and use this video as a reference for your travels.
