1.Those who use IC cards to transfer between Shinkansen and conventional lines

If you’re using an IC card, you can easily pass through the ticket gate by simply tapping your card on the machine.
However, you won’t be able to pass through if there isn’t enough credit on your card,
so make sure you have it charged up in advance.

2.Those who use tickets for the Shinkansen and IC cards for conventional lines

After passing your Shinkansen ticket through the ticket gate,
you can pass through by tapping an IC card that has sufficient credit.
At your destination’s conventional railway station,
use the same IC card to tap the ticket gate to pass through.

3.How to transfer to conventional lines using a ticket

If you have a local train ticket to your destination

If you have a Shinkansen ticket and a local train ticket,
stack both tickets together and pass them through the ticket gate.

If you have used an IC card for the Shinkansen,
please first pass your local train ticket through the transfer ticket gate and then touch your IC card.

If you are about to buy a ticket for a conventional line

Exit the ticket gates at the “Shinkansen Central Exit” and purchase a ticket for the local line.
