Shinkansen Central Exit
If you are using the bus or taxi stand on the north side of Kyoto Station,
or if you are heading towards NIDEK Kyoto Tower or Higashi Honganji Temple,
it is easiest to travel from the Shinkansen Central Exit.

1Head towards the Shinkansen Central Exit.
The exit is marked by a yellow sign.
The white sign is for the transfer gate to the JR line,
so be careful not to make a mistake.

2.Go through the ticket gate at the “Shinkansen Central Gate”
- If you have a ticket, please pass through the ticket gate.
- If you have an IC card, please tap the card to pass through.
Note! You cannot exit the ticket gates with an “EX Ticket.”

3.Head towards the “West Exit”.
- After exiting the “Shinkansen Central Exit”,
turn right and use the stairs or escalator you see at the back. - Just head towards the West Exit.

4.Go through the “West Exit”
- You will see the “West Exit” on your right, but please pass it.

5.Continue down the passage on the right.
You will see the glass entrance to Isetan on your left and a corridor on your right leading to the back,
so proceed down the corridor on the right.

6.Go down the escalator.
It’s a little complicated,
but if you go further in you will see an escalator on your left,
so take it down.

7.Go left.
If you go outside the station building to the left,
you will see the terminal in front of the building,
with the bus stop in the middle and a taxi stand on the right.
The tower you can see directly ahead is Kyoto Tower.
